The Official Crew Uniform, 2012 Sailing Season

The Navy Crew polo will be required for all open ship events, as well as receptions and other dockside events. All new crew members who wish to help with these dockside events or go on sailing trips MUST buy the navy blue polo. These shirts must be worn with clean, non-ripped or stained khaki bottoms (shorts, pants, and skirts are all acceptable).

During parades of sail and other public sailing events, Gazela crew may wear either their navy crew polo shirt, or any of the other navy items offered for sale. We have tried to provide a large variety of options, from sleeveless shirts, to long sleeved shirts and jackets. Please see descriptions below.

Items on the order form that are not listed as navy are available in red or navy. Red is no longer part of the official crew uniform, but many crew members still wearing the red items during weekend work hours and while on “shore leave” in port.

Ordering Details

Navy Crew Polo – These will be basically the same as last year’s. They are 100% cotton Devon and Jones polo shirts, available in both men’s and women’s sizes. They have the Gazela logo and crew member’s name embroidered on the left chest. Shirts cost $25.

Navy ¾ zip Fleece – These are Polyester and also by Devon and Jones and will feature the Gazela left chest logo as well. Fleece cost $25 for the unisex and $26 for the women’s. Unisex available in sizes S-XXXL, and women’s available in sizes S-XXL. Add $3.00 for sizes XXL and XXXL.

T-shirt – Available in red or navy. These will also be the same as last year’s. They have a large screen print of the ship on the back and a small left chest print on the front. They are Gilden brand, lightweight, and 100% cotton. Available in men’s or women’s, sizes S-XXXL. These will cost $12, add $3.00 for sizes XXL and XXXL. Also available long sleeved.

Sleeveless T-Shirt – The men’s version is just like a regular T-shirt, but without sleeves. The women’s version is a loose fitting scoop neck tank. Both are available in red or navy, sizes small – XXL. $8.

Hooded Sweatshirt – Available in red or navy, sizes S-XXXL. Add $3 for XXL and XXXL. Zips up the front. Small logo on left chest, large logo on the back. Soft and cozy on the inside.

Women’s Hoodie - Available in red or navy, women’s sizes S-XL. Zips up the front. Not as heavy-weight as the unisex version. More fitted. Small logo on left chest, large logo on the back.

Navy Watch Cap – A knit beanie. Same as last year. One size supposedly fits all. - $8. Gazlea embroidered logo on the front.

Navy Windbreaker – Available in unisex S-XXXL. This is a Dickies brand waterproof windbreaker. $30 or $33 for XXL and XXXL. Gazela left chest logo.

Navy Fleece-lined Jacket - Also available in women’s S-XXL and men’s S-XXXL. Nylon shell with fleece lining. Devon and Jones brand. Gazela left chest logo. $50 or $53 for XXL and XXXL.

Navy Fleece Vest – Available in men’s and women’s sizes S-XL. Gazela logo embroidered on the left chest
