Strategic Plan Review

Plan Comments

Strategic Planning

The PSPG Board of Directors appointed the Strategic Planning Committee in August 2007. The committee is comprised of Guild members selected for their expertise in ship preservation, ship maintenance and operations, cooperative programming, education and outreach, event coordination, fundraising, and strategic planning. The committee members are Lynn Yonally, Zach Stevenson, Melissa Black, Nick Horvath and Ed Stemmler.

This Plan was developed through extensive meetings of volunteers, directors and crew members. Four areas of focus are to be addressed over a five-year planning period (2008-2012), including Guild Development, Ship Maintenance, Education and Community Outreach, and Ship Operations. The Planning Committee also identified a series of prioritized tasks. The tasks are intended to guide the Volunteers, Staff, and Directors implementing the plan.

The Committee recommended the review of the Plan by the Guild membership including Volunteers, Crew members, the Directors and partners in the City of Philadelphia. This is a first draft. The Directors approved the release of this Draft on February 20, 2008.

The Committee would appreciate constructive input by March 8, 2008. All comments will be added to Appendix 4 in the Strategic Plan. The input and comments will be available on this site for public review. All edits to the plan will be reviewed and approved by the Strategic Planning Committee. The Board of Directors must approve the final draft.

To gather input on this document, the committee has set up a web survey site for convenience:
