Gazela Classes

The Volunteer Crew of the Barkentine Gazela are offering classes in traditional seamanship. All proceeds benefit the preservation effort of the Guild, with special focus on the Gazela. Participants will work with their hands, pulling on halyards and learning to set a variety of sails without leaving the dock. Moderate physical activity.

If interested in climbing, students must be physically fit, bring a climbing harness, and must attend a training session on safe climbing aboard this ship.

Schedule:
September 8, 9 am to 1 pm, Setting Sail
September 22, 9 am to 1 pm, Knots & Line Handling

Fees:
Classes are free to Guild Members; Non-members will be charged $40 per individual class
